Robert W. Crabtree

Robert W. Crabtree is a partner at Crabtree Schmidt and is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization.

Born in Modesto and raised on a cattle and barley ranch in Eastern Stanislaus County, Mr. Crabtree attended Roberts Ferry Elementary and Oakdale High School before enrolling at U.C. Berkeley where he obtained a BS in mechanical engineering.

After working a year as an engineer, Mr. Crabtree attended Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, graduating as the Valedictorian of his class.

In 1967 Mr. Crabtree joined Price and Martin, the predecessor firm of Crabtree Schmidt. His practice was initially heavy in insurance defense trial work, but soon evolved into a broad based practice involving civil trials, estate planning, probate, entity formation, real estate and business transactions.

Mr. Crabtree has always been a farmer at heart and has enjoyed assisting farmers and ranchers with their business and estate planning needs. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Crabtree has farmed barley, managed the family almond orchard and operated an almond processor and handler. Those activities are now in the past but are very useful in his understanding of his clients’ operations and concerns.

Mr. Crabtree’s current practice emphasizes estate, trust and probate matters, including high net worth estate planning, business succession planning and trust and probate litigation.
